FRUITLAND PARK, Florida – Police are investigating the deaths of two people, in what they are calling a murder-suicide. Fruitland Park Police responded to a call of a possible shooting around 10 p.m. Sunday on Phoenix Avenue, according to a release by Chief Erik Luce. Upon arrival, police found Eric Franklin Sims Jr., 29, and Courtney Lynn Holloway, 28, unresponsive; they were pronounced dead by emergency medical personnel on scene. Police have not released who was the aggressor. “It is too soon to and would be speculation at this time. We are waiting on evidence and processing results before making that determination, “ Luce said in an email to LLN.
Sims and Holloway lived together, and had six children together. Holloway also has a daughter from a previous relationship, according to the release. The home did not have a history of calls for violence, the release stated. The children were found unharmed at a neighbor’s home and are currently in the care of family members.
Police continue to investigate.
