LEESBURG, Florida — The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of two women who were found in a burned-out mobile home Tuesday, said LCSO Sgt. Fred Jones.
LCSO responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a shooting on East Dale Street in Lakeside Village in Leesburg around 8:41 a.m. Tuesday, and as deputies arrived, they observed a 57-year-old white male coming out of the residence, which was on fire, Jones said in an email. The fire marshal is investigating the fire, Jones told Lake Legal News.
The bodies of two females were discovered inside of the home, and their cause of death is unknown at this time, Jones said. The man seen exiting the home is being questioned and is cooperating with investigators, Jones said.
“We do know who [the women] are, we are not releasing [their names] because the next of kin has not been notified yet,” Jones told LLN.
This is an ongoing investigation.
