EUSTIS, Florida — The 71-year-old man arrested for stalking a young girl Thursday harassed her at her job so much, the manager pulled her off the floor, according to a report from Eustis Police Department.

Larry Yennior, of Tavares,  is accused of stalking the young girl at her grocery store job over the past year, Eustis Police officer Lauren Brown told Lake Legal News Thursday. Yennior  approached the girl several times and would buy small items just to go through her line, according to the report.

The juvenile victim, whose name is redacted from the report, told her manager Yennior had been approaching her and made her feel “very uncomfortable,” the report states. Yennior also hid behind a column at the store, cornered a different young female employee and asked about the girl he is accused of stalking.

On another occasion, the store manager was contacted by an employee on his day off due to Yennior coming to the store to see the girl. The manager drove up to the store, made contact with Yennior and told him to leave. Later that day, Yennior left a note with an employee that read, “On Sept. 24 at 7:42 p.m. [the store manager], accompanied by a white-haired man (meat department) cornered me in the exit as I was leaving and threatened me saying if I ‘interact” with [redacted] they (the store) will call the police. [The store manager’s] authority is limited to the store. If [redacted] wants me to ask her out all she needs to do is give me or have someone give me her cell phone number and I will call her at whatever time she wants me to call her when she is not working.”

According to the report, several employees observed Yennior displaying inappropriate behavior towards the victim and the store started using a code word over the intercom when Yennior came in, so they could remove the victim from the floor. The girl and her mother filed for an injunction in November 2019 and a six-month injunction was granted. Yennior appealed the ruling and a four-year injunction was granted in January 2020. As they left the courthouse, Yennior and two large men tried to intimidate them, the report states.

Yennior does not have a criminal record, but did have a prior involvement with law enforcement for stalking in Tavares in 2012. Yennior was arrested Thursday and is being held at the Lake County Jail on no bond.

This is an ongoing investigation and Eustis Police Department is asking anyone who may have been a victim of Yennior’s to come forward.  If you have information, call Eustis Police at 352-357-4121.
